Frequently Asked Questions
How long are appointments?
First time bridal appointments are 90 minutes, and follow ups are 1 hour! Don’t worry, if you need to continue your appointment, I would be more than happy to schedule another visit.
Why do you require a credit card when I book my appointment?
While your private appointment is free of charge, we require a credit card to hold your appointment time. Don't worry, though! Your card won't be charged unless you fail to show up for your scheduled appointment or cancel less than 24 hours prior to your appointment. If this happens to be the case, you may be charged $25.
Who should I bring? Are children allowed?
We all love our friends and family. That being said, we strongly recommend that you consider your appointment entourage carefully. This is your time to enjoy yourself, and bringing too many people can be overwhelming. Our fitting room can comfortably accommodate 5 of your most supportive loved ones. We also love the kiddos, though we do find that bridal appointments can be a bit boring for them. If you do decide to bring children along, they must be supervised at all times around all the pretty things.
What sizes do you carry?
All of the gowns in the shop are samples. When purchasing your gown, your measurements will be taken to ensure the correct size is ordered. Currently, our samples run from bridal size 8-12 (which is sizes 6-10, in "ready to wear" sizes). This may mean that you’ll need some assistance envisioning the fit of your gown. If you’re worried about sizing at all, mention it when you book your appointment.
Do you carry plus sizes? Petites?
Although our current sample selection is sized 8-12, our designers do make plus size gowns and they can be ordered in whatever size you may need.
If you’re petite, you may just need some alterations or you may need to order with custom height measurements. In your appointment, we’ll be able to help you order the exactly what you need!
We work hard to curate a selection of designers that create gowns of all shapes and sizes. Trying on wedding dresses should be as easy and comfortable and fun as possible, so we can discuss all options!
When should I start dress shopping?
Honestly, you should have a venue and date set first. It’s so much easier in your wedding look thought process! We recommend to start shopping about 8 months prior to your wedding. Most bridal gowns can take up to 4-5 months to arrive. One of our current designers has a 6 month lead time. Plus you should allow 1-2 months for alterations to ensure your perfect fit. All of Grey Pearl’s designers offer rush orders (for additional fee). The veils and bridal accessories have a 4-6 week lead time, as they are also made to order.
What should I bring to my appointment?
It would extremely helpful to you to wear seamless undies and a strapless (preferably nude) bra. If you plan on some sort of shape wear during your wedding, you may want to think about that as well. Grey Pearl does provide fitting room high heels, but if you already have your wedding shoes—even better to bring them! It will be important to know what heel height you’ll wear when placing an order for your gown. I also recommend a little makeup (if you wear on a regular basis) and doing your hair—my favorite messy bun isn’t always the best help imagining how you'll look on your wedding day!
Will you provide alterations?
As of right now, we do not offer alterations in the gallery. However, we are more than happy to make local recommendations.
How much do your gowns cost?
Currently, our gowns range from $1800-$5000, but most of our gowns are around $2500-$3300.
What are your business hours?
We do not have normal business hours. We are by appointment only. We currently take appointments Tuesday-Saturday 10am to 4:00pm; Sundays 11am-3:00pm. But reach out if you'd like to schedule an "after hours" appointment!
